How this calculator works

Estimate CGT for a standard ordinary-asset disposal using the disposal-date rate. Inputs are validated and passed to the versioned Ireland engine whenever a field changes.

Formula

Net gain less losses and the individual annual exemption is multiplied by the applicable disposal-date rate.

Worked example

A €20,000 taxable net gain before the €1,270 exemption produces €6,180.90 before 7 October and €5,806.30 from that date.

Scope and edge cases

The result card states its assumptions and status. Advanced reliefs, classifications or payroll facts outside the supported subset are never silently treated as zero.
