How this calculator works

Estimate compulsory 2026–27 HELP and study-loan repayments using the new marginal method. Inputs are validated, passed to the versioned Australia engine, and recalculated immediately whenever a field changes.

Formula

Repayments are marginal above $69,528, then use the second band, capped by the 10% total-income method.

Worked example

Repayment income includes more than taxable salary, including reportable super and net investment losses.

Edge cases and assumptions

Tax residency, eligibility dates, exemptions, family circumstances and documentation can change the result. The result card calls out material assumptions and unknown components are not silently changed to zero.
