How this calculator works

Estimate the 2026–27 cents-per-kilometre deduction, subject to the statutory kilometre limit. Inputs are validated, passed to the versioned Australia engine, and recalculated immediately whenever a field changes.

Formula

Deduction = eligible business kilometres × 91 cents, capped at 5,000 kilometres.

Worked example

You must meet eligibility and record requirements.

Edge cases and assumptions

Tax residency, eligibility dates, exemptions, family circumstances and documentation can change the result. The result card calls out material assumptions and unknown components are not silently changed to zero.
